This is the second in a series of paintings that Joseph is creating in support of Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park through the Park Enhancement Fund.  “This painting is representative of the view from Sunburst cabin window.  Many times we would look out the window and say “pinch me – I think I’m dreaming”.  The view from the cabin with Mt. Assiniboine reflecting in the clear waters of Sunburst Lake makes it doubly beautiful.” says Cross.

From Sharon’s Journal:  “Sitting on the porch of Sunburst cabin is a peaceful retreat.  Silence is broken by the laps of water on the beach and the occasional interruption of pine siskins, chickadees, or gray jays.  There is a slight breeze this morning and I can hear it rushing along the tree tops.  The sound collecting in a soft whir that extends for miles.  No longer the deafening silence, but an awakening of spirit.”

Limited edition giclées are available for sale.

Who Benefits?  The majority of the profits from the giclées will be for the benefit of Mount Assiniboine Park and other Kootenay Provincial Parks.

For years, hiking and exploring Mt. Assiniboine in it’s various seasons has been a passion of the Crosses.  Undertaking this project is a way to give back to the park what it has so graciously given.  We know Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park touches the lives of those who venture here.  Helping to enhance the experience of the visitor in this exceptional place brings meaning to our work.

We hope you will enjoy the many faces of Mt. Assiniboine that Joseph is capturing on canvas, and that you will be moved enough by your experience in Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park to want to purchase a lasting memory that will help you support this gem of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
