This
painting was inspired by a hike deep into the back country, looking at
the spectacular early summer vista of brilliant alpine colours spread
out before us. After ten long, hot hours, with no clear trail to follow,
we could go no farther. This meadow became our camp, bordered by a well-worn
bear path leading to it's den. Just over the rise in front of us lay our
destination - Thunderwater Glacier.
