Mountain High Pie

     This portrait captures a memorable moment during a wilderness canoe trip with our good friends Bob and Gretchen. While paddling on the Clearwater River from northern Saskatchewan back to Fort McMurray, Alberta we came across one of the buggiest camp spots imaginable.

     Black flies and mosquitoes in such abundance we had contests as to who could kill the most bugs in one swat. While Bob and I set up camp, Gretchen and Sharon cooked dinner and are captured here preparing our favourite camp dessert “Mountain High Pie”, served up with thick canned cream. When things get tough, good food is the solace at the end of the day.
